Jeane Stovall

 Dear Dave,

I think it’s commendable of you to take the bull by the horns in keeping our straggling classmates updated on one another.

I am married to Earl W. Curry, Jr., and I live at 3908 – 1st Avenue, Vienna, WV  26105.      My phone number is– 304-295-4890

Earl (PHS ‘57) and I have been married 52 years. One of our two children, Cindy, was killed by a drunk driver a few months after receiving her BBA from Marshall in 1984. I wouldn’t necessarily want that tragic story added to my bio. I don’t want to cause sadness for others.

We turned our loss into something positive by establishing a college scholarship fund in her memory. We’ve awarded dozen’s of college scholarships to Wood County Students attending WV colleges and universities. The scholarship is administered by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation www.PACFWV.com . At present, we’re awarding three, $2,000.00 scholarships per year.

Our son, Craig, married a beautiful gal, Betsy, that he met at Marshall and they have three sons. The oldest is a freshman at Marshall and the two younger grandsons are students at PHS. Craig bought the family business from us and is currently in warehousing and property management.

Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

Have a good day.  Jeane

Obituary

N. Jeane Curry, of Vienna, passed away on June 23, 2016, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by loved ones and in the care of Dr. Spychalski and Housecalls Hospice at Camden Clark Medical Center.

Jeane was born in Indianapolis, Ind., daughter of Wilbur Stavall Jr. and Mildred Jent.

She moved to Vienna as a teenager and graduated from Parkersburg High School where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Earl Curry Jr. Together, they raised two children and actively participated in the community as they operated the family business, Curry Transfer and Storage.

Jeane was an avid golfer, green-thumb gardener, and a creative and innovative cook. She loved to read and travel, especially enjoying the family's 2015 trip to England and Scotland. She was inquisitive and ebullient, feisty but also warm-hearted, a person who would rather give than receive. In memory of their daughter, Cindy, who passed away in 1984, Jeane and Earl established a college scholarship fund. Jeane spent many hours each spring reading applications and choosing recipients for the scholarship, then followed the school and career paths of those selected.
